Veer Gatha: Tales of Bravery and Valour

11th November 2024

Eighteen students of Grades IX and XI from IVWS had the opportunity to be a part of the 4th edition of  Veer Gatha, held at Dhonnyo Dhanno Auditorium in Alipore, on the 11th of November. Six gallant members of the Indian Army, with bravery and courage unparalleled, gave the students the experience of a lifetime and narrated the story of their thrilling lives throughout the duration of the event.

The students experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as the guests shared stories of commendable valour and wisdom that unmistakably left the students reshaped and reformed. A few notable names who shared their experiences include Major Mahesh Kumar (Sena Award), Colonel Mitali Madhumita (Sena Award), Lieutenant Anila Khatri and Solairaj Dharamraj (Gold medal in Paralympics for long jump). Dressed in olive green and stamped with prestige and valour, their tales served as reminders to the harrowing difficulties and
adversities they have to face. Yet, no blow was heavy enough to knock them off their feet. With resilience and determination unrivalled, they marched forward as the ambassadors of righteousness refusing to give up. The urge and hunger to fight for what one yearns, is the major takeaway that the students have earned from this unforgettable experience.
“Bravery isn’t the absence of fear but is the act of overcoming them.”
