The annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for grades 8, 9 and 11 was held on 27th March 2025 in the school auditorium. It was a great honour and privilege to have Dr. Subhasree Basu, Associate Professor of the Department of English, Loreto College as the Chief Guest in the event which was attended by the Heads of the Institution, students, faculty members and parents.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by an address by the Principal, Madam Reshma Bhattacharya where she welcomed the Chief Guest and summed up the activities conducted in the academic session 2024-25. A song and dance performance by the winners of Sangam added a cultural flavour to the programme followed by the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony.
Students were awarded for excelling in several categories. Certificates were given for General Proficiency, Subject Excellence, 100% Attendance, Commendable Progress in academics, Sports and Co-curricular Activities and All Round Excellence. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to a few students from grades 9 and 11, who had rendered selfless service to Children with Special Needs as Readers and Prodders thereby helping in the smooth facilitation of their papers during the Board Examinations.
Certificates were also presented to the winners of the two-day inter- house fest Sangam, where students from grades 8 and 9 competed in a plethora of activities ranging from creative writing in the three languages, art and craft and elocution to dance, singing and non-fire cooking. The four Houses accumulated points during the competition and Indus House raised the Champions Trophy for scoring the highest points based on the number of winners.
The Rohit Gupta Memorial Trophy along with a cash prize was a special award dedicated to the memory of Rohit Gupta, a proficient guitarist, an aspiring musician and a bright and versatile student who had been a part of this Institution from grade 5 to 12. The memento awarded by his parents to Sristi Das of Grade 11, a talented singer was a tribute to Rohit's enduring legacy as a musician and an inspiration for future musicians to pursue their art with dedication and passion.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal and Administrator Madam Madhumita Seal expressing gratitude to all who had contributed to the success of the ceremony. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem. The prize distribution ceremony served not only as an acknowledgement of the hard work, perseverance and dedication of the students in their holistic development but also motivated them to be better versions of themselves.
