An extremely prestigious six day wildlife photography workshop had been conducted by experts in the month of June where 33 students from different schools and colleges of the city took part. This was organized by the Victoria Memorial in collaboration with the Natural History Museum London and the British Council, Eastern India.
Meghanjali Mitra and Rishit Sarkar from Grade XII of IVWS participated in the workshop. The outcome of this learning experience was the opening of an exhibition of their photographs titled’ Young Minds for a Compassionate World’ at the Victoria Memorial on 17th November 2022. The students got the opportunity to work with alumni from the Natural History Museum ( London), conservationists and filmmakers. Indoor and outdoor sessions were conducted where nature observation skills, field craft, storytelling, wildlife photography and editing skills were taught. The response from the British Deputy High Commissioner and experts was overwhelming. They found the photographs taken by the youngsters amazing as they became aware of nature, flora and fauna and the impact of climate change.
