18th January 2025

DPS Howrah hosted Concordia its MUN chapter on 17th and 18th January respectively on its campus. 11 students of Indus Valley World School took part in the event whose agenda was Diplomacy For Sustainable Future. They were pitted against several schools across 6 committees- United Nations General Assembly (SOCHUM), United Nations Security Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations SDG Summit, All India Political Party Meet and the International Press.

Keys issues such as protecting the rights of discriminated sections of society with special emphasis on gender and religion, deliberation on the ongoing crisis in Sudan, addressing systemic discrimination and violations of minority rights: mechanisms for inclusion and protection, deliberation on the promotion of inclusive educational opportunities for Indigenous populations and universalisation of local knowledge systems (LKS), along with the current Bangladesh crisis and its implications on India’s regional stability and India’s role were discussed throughout the 2 days of the conference.
