On 15th July 2022, the Investiture Ceremony of the members of the Student Council of IVWS was held in the school auditorium. Dr. Sandip Chatterjee, renowned neuro-surgeon and Founder-Member Calcutta Debating Circle was the Chief Guest.
The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the opening address on leadership by the Director. The members of the Student Council were administered the oath of office by the Principal Ms. Reshma Bhattacharya. The Captains and Vice Captains received their badges and flags from the Principal and Vice Principal. The Prefects from Grades 12 and 10 took their oath of office thereafter and received their badges. A hymn was presented by the school choir to seek the blessings of the Almighty on the newly appointed student leaders.
The Chief Guest Dr. Chatterjee delivered an inspiring address and held the audience captive through his eloquence, laced with his characteristic humour. The programme ended with the school song and the National Anthem.
The parents of the office bearers and their teachers felt immensely proud to see the children take on leadership roles and we wish them all the best for the year ahead.
