We celebrated Earth Day with vibrant activities across all grades at Indus Valley World School! Our students engaged in meaningful learning experiences focused on environmental conservation and sustainable practices.
Our Pre-Primary students brought artistic energy to Earth Day through colourful balloon stamping, paper collages, and earbud printing, creating beautiful representations of Mother Earth and celebrating the importance of flora and fauna in our ecosystem. They also made dolls and toys out of recycled materials as a collaborative project with ANUKTIKA, a central government recognised organisation that deals with waste management and recycling of waste matter.
Grades 3-5 participated in educational sessions highlighting environmental responsibility. The Grade 3 students learned about the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—through an engaging video, while Grades 4-5 explored various forms of energy and conservation methods through discussions and visual presentations. The celebration concluded with students taking a heartfelt pledge to protect Mother Earth.
Our Junior section students showcased remarkable creativity by designing robotic models made entirely from recycled materials. These innovative creations demonstrated how waste items can be transformed into fascinating technological representations, embodying the perfect blend of STEM learning and environmental consciousness.
Middle school students (Grades 6-8) participated in CBSE-recommended presentations on energy conservation, examining both renewable and non-renewable resources. These interactive sessions inspired students to share their own ideas for energy utilization and conservation. The learning was reinforced through discussions, quizzes, and questionnaires about energy resources.
Through these activities, our students are developing into conscious environmental stewards who understand that every day should be Earth Day!
