On 25th October 2019, the students of Grades 3-5 celebrated Diwali in the auditorium through a special assembly. The presentation covered the five days of Diwali beginning with Dhanteras, Choti Diwali, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. The students of Grade 4 began the presentation with a dance to the Rabindrasangeet,’ Heemero Rate. The explanation of the 5 days was interspersed with a Shyamasangeet rendered melodiously by Spandan Barui of Grade 4. This was followed by a dance by the students of Grade 8 to a Kali Stotra. Selected students of Grades 3-5 sang a bhajan speaking about the joys of Diwali and the Assembly ended with a rendition of ‘Asatoma Sadhgamaya’ as the auditorium was lit up with beautiful diyas. The students were spoken to by our Director where they were given the message of loving and sharing and they were also made aware of the need for a noiseless Diwali and the beauty of celebrating with lights.
