Celebration of National Youth Day by IVWS
17th January 2025
To commemorate National Youth Day, the students of *Grade 5* enthusiastically participated in activities inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s quotes. The students were divided into groups and each group showcased their creativity by drawing pictures, writing poems, preparing a skit, and creating PowerPoint presentations based on the theme. Their vibrant drawings depicted the importance of hard work, positive thinking and determination while the skit delivered a meaningful message about staying active and being hopeful and focused.
The quotes that the different sections of Grade 5 used are as follows:-
“Every thing is easy when you are busy, but nothing is easy when you are lazy.”
5A
“Whatever you think, that you will be. If you think yourselves weak, weak you will be; if you think yourselves strong, strong you will be.”
5B
“Losing Is A Chapter In The Book Of Winning. Don’t Let It Define Your Story.”
5C
“We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they
travel far.”
5D
“There is only one difference between Dream and Aim.
Dream requires effortless sleep and Aim requires sleepless efforts.”
5E.
The poems reflected their understanding of the above mentioned quotes, and the presentations were visually appealing and well-structured. The students’ energy and dedication made the event a memorable success, instilling the values of diligence and perseverance in everyone present.
*Grades 8 and 11* watched a documentary on Swami Vivekananda’s vision of education for the Indian youth. The one hour documentary held students enthralled as the film captured moments from Vivekananda’s journey to Chicago to attend the World’s Parliament of Religions and his subsequent work in education after returning to India. The documentary featured several schools and how education is imparted today. Vivekananda laid emphasis on education as the manifestion of divine perfection already existing in man. The documentary definitely made students aware of what education is and left them with a lot of food for thought.
