The Annual Senior School Sports was held on 15 December 2019 at Gitanjali Stadium. The programme saw Mr. Jagmohan, IPS Director General, Fire & Emergency Services in attendance as our Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Subhajit Saha, an Arjuna Awardee and National ranked Table Tennis Champion. We were delighted to have amidst us the Kolkata Police Brass Band that added grandeur to the Sports Meet. The morning began with a grand march past led by the School Captains followed by the four Houses, namely, Brahmaputra, Ganga, Indus and Yamuna. The torch relay saw our star sportsmen lighting the flame which began the Sports Meet. This was followed by several athletic events interspersed with spectacular displays in Yoga, Martial Arts and Drills by students from Grades VI-XI. We were delighted to host 12 city schools for the Inter-School Relay which happened for the first time in the history of the school.The presence of innumerable parents made it a morning to remember. The Sports Day saw the institution of 4 rolling trophies for the first time. They were the Shri G.N. Khaitan Memorial Trophy(Best Athlete-Boys), Shrimati Draupadi Khaitan Memorial Trophy( Best Athlete-Girl), Shri Gopal Chakrabortii Memorial Trophy for the March Past and the Chairman’s Cup for the Champion House. The.Best Athlete -Boys was Prohor Choudhury of VIII B while the Best Athlete-Girl was Ramyani Basu of VIII C.The March Past Cup was won by Ganga House and the Champion House was Yamuna with a whopping 600 points! The entire morning was a spectacle in dedication, sincerity and teamwork.
