A Diwali to Remember: Celebrating Light and Community

28th October 2024

Indus Valley World School celebrated Diwali with a special event promoting unity and inclusion on October 28. The evening featured cultural performances by students from both the main school and Neev Chhatrachhaya, the school’s evening initiative for children from less privileged backgrounds, symbolizing the spirit of shared joy across social divides.
Highlights included a magic show by an eighth-grader and eco-friendly fireworks, emphasizing the school’s commitment to both community and environmental responsibility. Sixth-graders donated sparklers and diyas to their Neev peers, spreading the festival’s light and warmth.
Principal Mrs. Reshma Bhattacharya remarked, “This celebration was a lesson in empathy and social consciousness, showing students the true meaning of Diwali as a festival of shared joy.”
The event underscored how education can bridge divides, fostering a culture of inclusion and compassion.
