20th October 2022

On 20th October the students of Grade VI and the Interact Club members, teachers and staff of Indus Valley World School created a magical evening for sixty underprivileged children of the school neighbourhood.
The occasion was graced by the ex District Governor of Rotary District 3291 Mr. Prabir Chatterjee as he came to encourage this unique endeavour.
Diwali was celebrated with a difference as the school gates were opened for the children from the neighbourhood slums to come and enjoy with the students of IVWS. The idea was to help children of well to do families understand the value of what they have and the importance of sharing with those who are less fortunate.
Collaborative activities like rangoli making and burning of phuljharis was enjoyed thoroughly by the students and the children of the slums with the parents and teachers helping them. This was followed by a fireworks display for everyone that was a huge success. The evening came to an end with distribution of refreshments to all and special gifts for all the underprivileged children from the neighbourhood.
This will be an unforgettable and joyous evening that will be cherished and remembered by everyone who came together to make it possible.
