On 15th August 2022, the celebrations at IVWS began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Principal Ms. Reshma Bhattacharya and the School Captain Shrijita Debnath in the presence of the administrative team and members of the Student Council.
The celebrations began in the auditorium as the Director Ms. Amita Prasad welcomed our Chief Guest , Sri Sugato Bose, Gardiner Chair of Oceanic History and Affairs, Harvard University and Director of the Netaji Research Bureau, Kolkata. He addressed the gathering and his eloquent erudition charmed every person present. His speech was the perfect precursor to the theme of Rakhibandhan as expressed by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore during the Partition of Bengal which was the core of the school presentation. The students and teachers collaborated to present a beautiful programme that captured the true essence of those days and linked its relevance to our present times where unity against adversities is the need of the hour.
